Just the other day, Starla and I were in the waiting room of a doctor’s office and the lady sitting next to us mentioned that she was surprised that we were not on our phones. She looked around the room and a few others were so glued to their phones that they hardly noticed anything else going on in the room. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not getting ready to bash technology or social media. My wife and I spend more than our fair share of time on our phones. We just happen to not be on them at this time. This lady thought we were either really disciplined or “not with it.”
How many times have you looked at a family in a restaurant and everyone is on their phones?
Here’s my point, it is important that we are aware of our present surroundings. Be aware of others in your life. Be aware of needs they may have. Be aware of their hurts. Just simply lift up your head, look people in their eyes and take the opportunity to be a blessing to someone.
Hebrews 10:24-25 NLT “Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. 25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.”
The word of the day is aware. Be aware of the God opportunities that He brings in your life today.
