We’ve all seen great fights by athletes such as Muhammed Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard, Evander Holyfield, Mike Tyson, Floyd Mayweather Jr., Manny Pacquiao or even Rocky Balboa. The fight goes late into the rounds. Sweat is pouring from their bodies. Fatigue is now as much of an enemy as their opponent. Then finally, the punch that appears to be the fight-ending punch is thrown. One fighter is on the canvas. The referee begins his count, 1, 2, 3…
Half the crowd is yelling, “Stay down,” and the other half is screaming, “Get up!”
Have you ever felt like this? Have you ever felt like you’ve been knocked to the canvas and you can hear the screams of the voices inside your head? One says, “Stay down,” and the other says, “Get up.”
Sometimes it seems like it would be easier to just stay down, quit or give up.
I know we have all made mistakes, and at times it seems like we can’t get up, even if we tried.
But I want you to know that failure is not final. God will use our failures, if we will allow Him. He will take what the enemy meant for harm and turn it into something good.
Joshua 7:10 (NLT) But the Lord said to Joshua, “Get up! Why are you lying on your face like this?
This is what God says to you today. Get up. Get back on your feet. Alright, you haven’t been perfect, who has? Get up, get right, and get going again.
The word of the day is Get up!
Speak this over your life today.
