The word of the day is Teamwork.
Too many couples, families and even business partners don’t realize that we’re on the same team.
We don’t succeed without each other. We don’t win without each other. We don’t exist without each other.
So why do we miss the beauty, the synergy, the power of teamwork? One simple word explains it all, selfishness. Selfishness drives our focus away from the ones who helped us “get there” and are helping us “stay there.” Selfishness is ugly at its core. In fact, selfishness is the root of every sin. That’s why selfishness is to be avoided at all times.
I was raised in a home with two brothers. My Mom worked a full time job and then came home and prepared dinner. My Dad made sure that my brothers and I helped out. We would help clean up the kitchen after dinner.
So this is where Starla and I get our plan. Starla and I are on the same team. We have a strategy for our home. This may not work in yours, but it does in ours.
If she cooks, I clean. (Of course this is why I choose to eat out a lot. Mmm…Is that cheating?)
However, if I cook, (which is as rare as a cold day in August) then she cleans. I actually grill a little more often. Nevertheless, we have a plan that requires teamwork. You need to realize that your spouse is your ally and teammate not your opponent or enemy.
1 Corinthians 12:12 “Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ.”
T- Together
E- Everyone
A- Achieves
M- More
When it comes to the ones you love the most, make an effort to work together, not against them.
