The word of the day is boldness.
Boldness is the confidence to say and do what is right.
We’ve all heard of the boldness of David against Goliath and Daniel in the lion’s den or Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in the fire. There are times we all need to take a stand for what is right.
When my son Kolt was in Jr. High, there was a bully that kept picking on him. I told Kolt to turn the other cheek, that didn’t work. I told him to tell the teacher, that didn’t work. I told the principal myself, that didn’t work. I felt I was left with no other options. I told my son if the bully puts his hands on you one more time, I want you to punch him in the nose. I said, don’t hesitate, don’t just push him away, punch him in the nose! That’s exactly what he did. (I realize no one will ever call me to write for any parenting magazine. I also realize this approach may not be the best solution for anyone else.)
All I know is, that bully never messed with my son again.
There are times that you have to boldly face your fears.
If you want your marriage, relationships, business and life to be better, then boldly face your fears. Take a stand for what is right. Take a stand for what God has promised you.
Here is a key to discovering boldness:
Acts 4:13 (ESV) “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, …they recognized that they had been with Jesus.”
Key: Spend quality time in the presence of Jesus and watch your boldness grow.
