Have you ever watched an eagle soar? They are such a majestic creature. Effortlessly soaring through the sky. Nesting high above its enemies. Ruler of the skies. There are so many amazing things about the eagle. But one thing in particular that I want to mention. When the eagle detects that a storm is coming, it will fly to a place and wait for the winds to come.
When the storm hits, it sets its wings so that the wind will pick it up and lift it above the storm. It doesn’t have the ability to fly as high as is necessary to get above the storm. Neither do we. That’s why we need the wind of God’s Spirit to lift us up.
While the storm rages below, the eagle is soaring above it. It’s not flapping or struggling, but soaring. In a peaceful calm, the eagle glides above the skies in tranquil wonder.
The eagle does not try to escape the storm. It just uses the storm to rise above it.
When the storms of life hit us, we can rise above them by running to God and waiting on the wind of His Spirit to lift us.
Isaiah 40:31 “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
“They will soar on wings like eagles;”
What’s the key? The key is putting your hope in the Lord. Don’t put your hope in people, places. Put your hope in His promises. The promises of the Lord.
People will let you down.
Places will lose their fascination.
But the Promises of God will never fade.
The word of the day is Soar. Speak this over your life today. It will make your life better.
