“Beautiful” is the word of the day. Speak this word over yourself and your family today.
There are so many things that are beautiful in our lives. But we often fail to see them or recognize them.
The other day, my four year old grandson Kanon, picked up an old dried leaf and handed it to my wife Starla, and said, “Isn’t it beautiful?” I looked at it and thought, to myself of course, ‘I don’t see anything beautiful about that leaf.’ But my grandson did. What I thought was beautiful was the way he saw it. Through his little eyes there was something beautiful about that leaf and that’s what I thought was beautiful.
How many times do we walk right by the beauty of a flower, plant or even an old dried leaf? How often do we fail to recognize the beauty in a kind gesture or sacrifice of another? How many times have we missed the beautiful effort of someone to make our day better? How often have we missed the beauty of a heartfelt hug or smile?
Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, “…He has made everything beautiful in His time.”
The sunrise is beautiful. The sunset is beautiful. The rain is beautiful. The sunshine is beautiful. The breeze and clouds are beautiful. The birds in the air are beautiful. The horses I pass in the field on my way to work each day are beautiful.
The family that God has given us are beautiful. Have you acknowledged them today?
Don’t let this day pass without telling those you love the most how beautiful they are to you.
Take time and write down three things that you saw today that are beautiful. Meditate on the wonder of God’s creation. Thank God today that He has placed beautiful things in our lives for us to enjoy.
