I received a letter from a lady in our church recently. She told me the story of how she had been informed that her company was letting her go, and she was given a termination date. She went back to her desk with several emotions swirling all at once. She was angry, disappointed, confused, conflicted and sad. She wanted to walk out and never look back. The day couldn’t end fast enough. She thought about not going back the next day. But after she had time to pray, she knew she had to go back with her head held high and do her job, unto God, not unto man.
As she returned to work, she went above and beyond what was expected of her and she did it all with a grateful heart. Her positive attitude was confusing upper management. Then, out of nowhere she was given a job lead and informed management that she would be taking half a day off to go on the interview. Within five minutes, she was called in the office and was offered a new position within her current company. She negotiated a higher wage and an extra weeks’ vacation. Bam! That’s what a child of God does.
Some people would have sabotaged their own promotion with a bad attitude. But a person with the Spirit of Excellence turns, what appears to be misfortune, into favor.
Daniel 6:3 (ESV) Then this Daniel became distinguished above all the other high officials and satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him. And the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom.
The word of the day is excellence.
Declare today, that you will walk in the Spirit of Excellence. It will make your day better.
