I recently drove down to the country to do a little work. As I made my way back to Dallas, pulling up in my driveway, I couldn’t help but notice all of the dirt that I had brought with me from East Texas. It was all over the side of my truck. It was on the wheels and the tires. It was on my boots. I had attracted many bugs on my windshield. (Unwanted passengers) The grill and the front of the hood was covered in dead bugs.
I looked at everything that I had brought back with me from the country and I realized that spiritually we do the same thing, if we are not careful. As we go throughout our day, we accumulate baggage. We take on cares, concerns and attitudes of the people that we have been in contact with all day.
Here’s what I know, the longer you leave the mud and the bugs on there, the harder it is to get it off. The easiest way to get rid of it, is to take it to the car wash and get it cleaned immediately. If you don’t get it clean quickly, the stains will become permanent.
Psalm 51:10 (NKJV) says, “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”
The word of the day is clean. Get before God today and allow Him to cleanse you from anything that you have taken on as baggage from this world. I promise you, life will be better.
