I was standing in line to eat the other day at a casual walk up and order at the counter, Barbeque Restaurant. I happened to notice that many of the people in front of me and behind me were all wearing flip flops. I couldn’t help but notice that most, if not all of them, had unattractive feet. No offense intended, I’m sure they were wonderful, precious people. They just had ugly feet. Come to think of it, feet are probably the most unattractive part of all of us.
So, it is interesting to me that this scripture says, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” (Isaiah 52:7/Romans 10:15, NIV)
Another version says, “How timely is the arrival of those who proclaim the good news.” (NET) Maybe that makes a little more sense. How timely, how perfect, how fortunate is the arrival of those who proclaim the good news.
Someone needs to hear good news today. Why don’t you make sure that you arrive with good news? I don’t promise it will make your feet any better looking, but it will make someone‘s day better. Maybe even your own. For someone it could be the difference between life and death. The word of the day is Good News. Share some good news with someone today. Tell them how much God loves them, cares for them and desires to spend eternity with them. That it good news.
