Starla and I were recently in beautiful California. We hiked up a picturesque mountain to a spot called Castle Rock. Several times stopping to catch our breath and resting our legs. As we made it to the peak of Castle Rock, we stopped and enjoyed our sack lunch, while soaking in the beautiful view of Big Bear Lake below.
As we descended from Castle Rock, we never once needed to stop and rest. We were not winded in the least. I was reminded of how much easier it is going down than climbing up.
This is true in any area of our lives. If you are building a business, restoring a marriage or breaking an addiction, there is a climb that is much more difficult than the descent. The climb is necessary to reach the top. The climb is necessary to accomplish the dream. The climb is necessary to overcome and be victorious. Without the climb, you’ll never see what the eagle sees. Without the climb you will never rise above the mediocrity that this world has to offer. Without the climb you’ll never have the view.
There it is. There’s the difference. The view. The person that is willing to make the climb, gets a better view. This person will see what God sees. This person will get God’s perspective. It’s always better, grander, more majestic and breathtaking.
Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV) “But those who wait on the Lord, Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.
I challenge you to wait on the Lord and allow Him to lift you up to a better view of what God has for you. There will be a climb, but the view will rock your world.
View is the word of the day.
