I was looking at my key chain the other day and I realized that I did not know what a few of the keys were for. I thought to myself, “Why am I carrying around keys that I have no use for?” Except for the fact that maybe I will possibly, at some time in the future remember what they are for, I should probably get rid of them.
But I can’t. I might need them. I know I’m sick.
Isn’t that crazy? I feel like that when it comes to clothes in my closet. I won’t throw some out because I think I might wear it sometime in the future. (It’s been out of style for so long, it might come back in style!)
I have this same problem with books and articles and random things that end up on my desk. I refuse to throw it away because I think I might need it. Please pray for me.
Recently I read this scripture that I really liked.
Deuteronomy 30:20 “This is the key to your life. …if you love and obey the Lord, you will live long in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”
Loving and obeying the Lord…This is the key to life.
Don’t throw this key away. And by all means don’t forget what this key is for. This is the key to life…Loving and Obeying the Lord.
There are some keys that you can forget and will not matter. There are other keys that you cannot live without. This is one of those keys. Love and Obey the Lord always.
The key to life. This is the word of the day and the key to a better life.
