Starla and I were at the park the other day with two of our grandkids. It was amazing to me, how many times I heard them, and other kids on the playground say, “Look at me!”
They wanted to be seen. They wanted to be affirmed. They wanted someone to look at them and say, “Good job!”
We really aren’t that different as adults. We may not say it, with these same words. But we may say it, through the clothes, cologne or perfume that we wear. We may say it, by the car that we drive, or the style of our hair. We may say it, by the way we conduct ourselves around others. You know the type of people, that no matter what story is being told, they always have a “one-up” story. They always have a story that is a little better than yours. They are saying, “look at me.”
Here’s what the Bible says…
Hebrews 12:2 (MSG) Keep your eyes on Jesus, (look at Jesus) who both began and finished this race we’re in.
The word of the day is “look at Jesus.” Keep your eyes on Jesus and you will always end up on the right side of things. It is also another way of making sure you have a better day.
