Many of you may be familiar with The Naked Cowboy. This is a guy who walks around in nothing but underwear, boots, Cowboy hat and guitar. He entertains on the streets of New York, ordinarily in Times Square. We ran across him recently and of course we had to get a picture of him with Hunter. What Naked Cowboy wouldn’t want a picture with my daughter! (What were we thinking?)
There is also a popular TV show on right now called “Naked and Afraid.” Two people are dropped off in a remote place without any clothes and then have to try to survive while naked and afraid. (Lame)
The word of the day is naked. Why would I choose this word to speak into our lives today? Because the original debut of this word was in the Garden of Eden when Adam and Eve were naked and unashamed.
Genesis 2:25 Adam and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.
This meant that Adam and Eve were walking in purity and did not see their nakedness as something to be ashamed of. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not leaning toward a fabric free society. Please keep your clothes on. However, I am leaning toward a sin free society. When we learn to walk in purity we can be blameless and unashamed.
Philippians 2:15 “So that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky.”
That’s a better way to live.
Strive for purity in your walk and your talk. It will make your life better.
