Make Every Minute Count!

time 9-26-15

I just received news that one of my Pastor friends that I have known for 30 years, just lost his 20 year old son in a motorcycle accident. My heart is hurting for this precious family. This young man loved the Lord and had a purpose and passion for life. He served God and loved God. This is a sad and shocking reminder of how infallible we are and how uncertain our days on this earth really are. It doesn’t seem to make sense. Why does a young man who is serving God lose his life so early while others living unwisely continue to live?

We have to trust God and trust God’s Word. Read this following verse carefully.

Job 14:5 says, “You have decided the length of our lives. You know how many months we will live, and we are not given a minute longer.”

The word of the day is time. We are given only so much time on this earth and not one minute more.

Make the most of your time.

Ephesians 5:16 (NASV) says, “Making the most of your time, because the days are evil.”

Does this mean we should party like there’s no tomorrow? No. It means, since the days are evil and people are making unwise choices that have eternal consequences, we should do everything we can to let people know;

  1. God loves you and has a plan for your life. (John 3:16)
  2. Sin has separated you from God. (Romans 3:23)
  3. But God sent His son Jesus to pay the price for your sins and make you right with God.(Romans 6:23 and John 3:16)
  4. All you have to do is call on the name of Jesus and make Him the Lord of your life.(Rom. 10:8-10)

Make every minute count today. Our time is short. Make today better.
